HOW FAR ALONG SHOULD I BE FOR MATERNITY PHOTOS?
Most maternity sessions are scheduled when you are between 28–34 weeks pregnant. During this time, your baby bump is usually beautifully visible, but many moms still feel comfortable enough to move around and enjoy the session.
Every pregnancy is different, though. If you're expecting twins or your bump is showing earlier, you may want to schedule a little sooner.
WHAT TIME OF DAY ARE MATERNITY SESSIONS SCHEDULED?
For the most beautiful light, maternity sessions are typically scheduled about one hour before sunset. This soft golden light creates the warm, glowing look you see throughout our portfolio and is especially flattering for beach photography.
After photographing many sessions on Anna Maria Island and the surrounding Sarasota beaches, we’ve found sunset consistently provides the most beautiful results.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MATERNITY PHOTOS?
Flowy dresses and soft, neutral colors tend to photograph beautifully on the beach and help highlight your baby bump. Many moms choose a dress that gently moves with the breeze, which adds a soft, romantic feel to the images.
CAN MY PARTNER OR CHILDREN BE INCLUDED IN THE PHOTOS?
Absolutely! Many maternity sessions include partners and older siblings.
We typically capture a combination of individual maternity portraits, couple photos, and family moments so you have a beautiful variety of images celebrating this special time.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?
Beach weather in Florida can change quickly, and brief showers are very common. If rain is in the forecast, we’ll stay in communication with you and adjust timing if possible. If the weather truly isn’t workable, we’ll do our best to reschedule your session during your stay.
If we’re unable to find another time that works for both of us, your deposit will be fully refunded.
