WHAT TIME OF DAY ARE ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS SCHEDULED?
For the most beautiful light, engagement sessions are typically scheduled about one hour before sunset. This soft golden light creates the warm, romantic look you see throughout our portfolio and is especially flattering for beach photography. After the sun dips below the horizon, we often capture a few additional photos during the soft pastel skies that appear just afterward.
After photographing hundreds of sessions on Anna Maria Island and the surrounding Sarasota beaches, we’ve found sunset consistently provides the most beautiful results.
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR FOR OUR ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS?
We recommend choosing outfits that feel comfortable, flattering, and reflect your personal style. Soft coastal colors, light neutrals, and flowy fabrics photograph beautifully on the beach. Many couples choose one dressier outfit and one more relaxed look for variety.
After booking, we’ll send you a blog post with helpful tips and outfit inspiration to make planning your engagement session easy.
WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?
Florida beach weather can change quickly, and many showers pass just as fast as they arrive. If rain is in the forecast, we’ll stay in communication and adjust the timing if possible. If the weather truly isn’t workable, we’ll do our best to reschedule your session during your stay.
If we’re unable to find another time that works for both of us, your deposit will be fully refunded.
WHAT IF WE’VE NEVER HAD PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS TAKEN BEFORE?
Most couples tell us this before their session, and that’s completely normal! You don’t need to know how to pose. We’ll gently guide you throughout the session so everything feels natural, relaxed, and fun. Our goal is to capture your genuine connection while helping you feel comfortable in front of the camera. Within a few minutes, most couples say they forget the camera is even there.
CAN WE BRING PROPS OR INCLUDE SOMETHING MEANINGFUL?
Absolutely! Many couples choose to bring along items that feel personal to them, whether that’s a bouquet, champagne to celebrate, a blanket to sit on, or something sentimental like a letter, heirloom, or outfit change.
If you have an idea in mind, we’re always happy to help you incorporate it in a way that feels natural and elevated, not overdone. And if you’re not sure what to bring, don’t worry—we’ll guide you with simple suggestions that photograph beautifully and fit seamlessly into your session.
